The American Propoganda Machine

Its interesting to see the new movie trailer for flight 93 , the plane that went down in a feild back in sept 11, they now have a movie about it out, and very soon there will be a world trade center movie as well. i find the propoganda from the american's is ALOT like the nazi's had back in there day, both very good and both very well thought out. I guess its just i live out side of America and can see it from a different set of eyes. I do watch CNN sometimes, and its interesting to see how much storys are about fear or a crime or something really really bad, usaly every 3rd story. They wonder why things happend to them , yet they never ask WHY they happend? something about being the bully of the world , fighting people for oil, or if they don;t live like they do, then they are wrong.

just a thought.

Wow Chad, I couldn't disgree withyou more. I am actually but from the U.S. oringially myself but it's where I live now.

Anyway, to your post: You assume the U.s., is fighting for oil apparently, was that the case too when the Us went to Kosovo or Rwanda?! It is for higher goal than that. When the U.S. initally did nothing and tried to stay out of WWI and WWII and then later Kosovo and Rwanda America was accused of being hard hard and selfish, not getting involved and stopping the bloodshed. Then the U.S. goes into Irag and Afghanistan and is accused of being bullies.

"yet they never ask WHY they happend?" --I honestly don't think you are that well informed here. Probably you've never seen the endless political shows discusing this very matter. Look at Charlie Rose, Larry King or the McLaughlin Group for starters to see such discussion in the past and ongoing. Perhaps the shows you get in Canada don't reflect the breadth of programmig available here in the U.S.? Really, one can't flippantly make such a blanket dismissal for a country as vast and diverse as the United States.

Let's remember too that the American govt. has been traditionally more generous financially than any other country in the world, sending aide to countries that have no love for America, to put it mildly. And then of course, this doesn't include individual American giving which is tremendous.

I have to wonder where you are going to get your info.

sincerely,

Duncan
