My 26th BirthDay

As i near my 26th birthday this Tuesday April 25th ,in the year of our Lord 2006, i think of all the other birthdays in the past that i see people get drunk off there asses on there birthdays.

I my self do drink, but not to the point were i get drunk, i might have 2-3 glasses of Rye in a night, then i stop, the last time i drank beer or rye was easter. i might drink once every 4 months, mainly b/c i can't afford it, the cost for beer or rye costs ALOT,

Nor do i go to bars or pubs alot, the only pub i really like going to is the Oasis Bar and Grill in Cobourg. Its a family place, good food, the owners Don & Carol are nice people for the most part. A friend of mine Dirk is the bar Keep, when he's not working at Zerkatek ( a nucular power plant) in port hope, when you don't have very much money most of the time anyway. but i digress.

Anyways, I could never understand why people feel the need to get drunk, more so on there birthdays, i have been drunk before yes 3 or 4 times before i came to know Jesus, its not fun, the smell, the puking, the general lack of sleep, its not fun. when i'm at my parents house and they are having a shin dig, they expect me to bring my own drink, i would bring 2l of pop or water, and sit and watch people get silly.


As i'm growing older and more in Jesus, i realize that drinking At all is pointless, one drink could lead to 3 to 10 to 25, its just not worth it. As my good friend steveie B likes to say

i like being drunk off my ass in the Holy Spirit though. There's never any regrets there.
