St. Patrick's day

Someone tell me how on a day about a saint, means are to get drunk. i never understood this EVER. sounds like a catholic thing, they seem to love the booze.

St. Patrick apperently drove the snakes out of Irland, so that means what? EVERYONE LETS GET DRUNK. me i dont drink that often, nor will i drink tomorrow night, nor will i ever drink on what ever day of the month st. patricks day is on every year.
why bc its a waste of my time, money. i think its just a bull crap excuse to get drink and be dumb asses.

I just find it amazing how the non christian world just amps everyone up for it, like its never coming back.
