May 2, 2011 The Canadian Election
ok so today is the day we vote for a new Prime Minster of Canada, i voted earlier , for the NDP party, but my political views are more socialistic, Canada is pretty much a Socialist country, universal health care, welfair , help for the blind and homeless. your telling me thats not at least on paper Socialist at all?
there is no way the Green party of Canada would EVER win the election due to their platform which is pretty much shut down anything that pollutes, get rid of the military , ya good luck with that.
as my mom said often, for you woman go out there and vote, 80 yrs of being able to enjoy that right, so do it. other wise you cant bitch about how things are run. you have a voice, use it. Hitler was voted in by only a few votes.

I believe their latform is somewhat more nuanced than you would have us believe. I am also not convinced we need an army. We are surroundedd by water, uncrossable terrain and a friend who we couldn't possibly defend ourselves from any way.
We need a minimal navy and an air force, just to discourage.
What enemies do we face that we need an army to defend ourselves from? What enemies would arise if we suddenly lacked an army?
What could we use that money for if we decided to redirect it from a standing army to a smaller more mobile peace keeping force combines with a slightly better navy and air force?
While I agree the green party has no shot of winning anything of consequence, they are also the only party with a forward thinking jobs plan. M\anufacturing in North America is dead, and it is not coming back. What do we do now?
